Tonight, the iconic Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building, will light up in the vibrant colors of the Philippine flag to commemorate the 126th Philippine Independence Day. This spectacular event symbolizes the strong ties and mutual respect between the United Arab Emirates and the Philippines, highlighting the contributions of the Filipino community in the UAE.

The light show, set to begin at 7:50 PM, will feature a stunning display of the Philippine flag’s red, blue, white, and yellow hues. This visual spectacle is a tribute to the rich history and culture of the Philippines, marking over a century of independence and resilience.

“We are honored to celebrate Philippine Independence Day by having our Philippine flag shown on this world-famous building,” said Filipino Social Club Vice President Ellanie Villena. “This event not only celebrates our country’s journey to freedom but also acknowledges the significant contributions of the Filipino community in Dubai and the UAE.”

The Filipino Social Club (FilSoc), along with the Philippine Embassy in the UAE headed by His Excellency Ambassador Alfonso Ferdinand Ver and the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai and the Northern Emirates led by Hon. Marford Angeles, expressed its gratitude to the UAE government and Emaar Properties for their continuous support and recognition of the Filipino community. “This gesture is a testament to the strong bilateral relations between our two nations. It fills us with pride and joy to see our national colors displayed on such a global landmark,” said FilSoc President Ericson P. Reyes
