For the very first time, the Philippine Independence Day in the UAE will be held on the same day—June 12--when it was proclaimed hundreds of years ago.
This year, it will be held at the Dubai World Trade Centre that is expected to draw thousands of audience members.
Several Filipino artists will also be performing at the one-day and fun-filled event.
During a press conference yesterday, the organizers confirmed that all scheduled activities will be pushed through. This year, the event’s theme is “Celebrating Resilience Thriving in Diversity.”
These activities include performances from special celebrity guests, including Kim Molina, Jerald Napoles, Jane De Leon, and Joshua Garcia.
Bobby Carella, the Chairman of Philippine Business Council, also announced during a press conference the WOW booth that will be installed during the celebration.
Emirati singer-songwriter Alira will be singing the Philippine national anthem.
Other representatives from other emirates, such as Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, Umm Al Quwain, Sharjah, and Ajman, will also be participating in the event. There will be color-coded shirt to represent each emirate.
Josie Conlu of Emirates Love Philippines & Head of Kalayaan 2022 announced that six schools will be participating, including The Philippine School, and Far Eastern Private School, among others.
