Filipinos in the UAE who caught the Covid-19 can still avail of the AED730 cash assistance from the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) – Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) even if they have their own health insurance.
The cash aid is available to all the members of OWWA.
POLO-OWWA Welfare Officer Melvin Caseda told The Filipino Times that just like the financial assistance by the Department of Labor and Employment’s Abot Kamay ang Pagtulong (AKAP), the assistance will be on a first-come-first-served basis and is subject to availability of funds.
“Even if they have insurance at na-cover ang medical expenses nila, they can still apply. After ma-review ang mga requirements, papadalhan ng form ang mga qualified at tatawagan po sila kapag pwede na nila i-claim ang o available na ang funds,” Caseda said.
Those who are Dubai or Northern Emirates visa holders need to send their application at POLO-Dubai; while Abu Dhabi visa holders may apply at POLO-Abu Dhabi.
Requirements:
-Passport copy
-Working visa copy
-Medical report/certificate that states the Covid-19 positive diagnosis of the patient
-Proof of OWWA membership
