Filipinos in UAE Celebrate Post-Independence Day with Grand Event at Dubai World Trade Centre

The 125th Philippine Independence Day Grand Opening & Ribbon Cutting ceremony took place at the Sheikh Saeed Hall of Dubai World Trade Centre, attracting a multitude of Filipinos residing in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

This significant event, commemorating the Philippines' declaration of freedom from colonial rule and its pursuit of self-determination, was attended by esteemed guests, including Ambassador Alfonso Ferdinand A. Ver, the designated representative of the Republic of the Philippines to the UAE.


The event was a grand celebration, with the presence of Consulate diplomats, officials from the CDA Chairman's office, the Filipino Social Club - Dubai Board of Directors, as well as other dignitaries.

The gathering aimed to unite Filipinos residing in the UAE and honor the historical struggles, sacrifices, and unwavering spirit of their ancestors who fought for the liberties enjoyed today.


The ceremony commenced with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, symbolizing the opening of the grand event.


Ambassador Ver led the prestigious occasion, emphasizing the deep historical significance that the day holds for the Filipino community.


The celebration not only reflected on the struggles of the past but also served as a reminder of the continuous journey towards progress and empowerment.


In addition to the esteemed guests, popular Filipino celebrities Daniel Matsunaga and Daiana Menezes graced the event with their presence.


The actors' attendance delighted the crowd, who eagerly awaited their arrival. Matsunaga and Menezes engaged with the overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and provided a sense of familiarity and connection, bridging the gap between their home country and their current place of residence.
