The Islamic New Year falls on Saturday, July 30 this year, according to Ibrahim Al-Jarwan, a member of the International Union for Astronomy and Space Sciences.

According to an interview of UAE Barq to an astronomer, the first day day of the holy month of Ramadan is likely to fall on Thursday, March 23, 2023.

This season is the ninth month of Islamic luner calendar and it is approximately lasted for 30 days.

Thus, April 21, 2023 will be the first day of Eid Al Fitr, the end of the Ramadan fasting.

Zul Hijjah’s first day will fall on Monday, June 19, 2023, and Eid Al Adha’s first day will fall on Wednesday, June 28, 2023.

Muslims consider the Day of Arafah as the holiest day of the year, which comes after Eid Al Adha.

Residents of the UAE can look forward to at least two long weekends next year. Moon sightings are subject to change closer to the date.
