Starting tomorrow, Sunday, residents in Israel are no longer mandated to wear face masks in outdoor places as the number of Covid-19 infections continues to decrease.
“The rate of infection in Israel is very low thanks to the successful vaccination campaign in Israel, and therefore it is possible to ease (restrictions),” Health Minister Yuli Edelstein said in a statement.
Meanwhile, he clarified that wearing masks inside indoor venues is still in place.
Israel is one of the countries with a successful and effective vaccination program that limits the spread of the virus. So far, it has vaccinated close to five million people--more than half of its 9.3 population.
