New Platform Reduces UAE Visa Processing Time From 30 Days To 5

The time required to complete all necessary documents for acquiring work permits and residency visas has been drastically reduced from nearly one month to just five days in the emirate of Dubai. This achievement comes courtesy of the newly launched Work Bundle platform, introduced on Tuesday.

Officials, speaking at a Press conference, revealed that the integrated procedure not only slashes processing time but also reduces the number of required documents from 16 to just five. Additionally, individuals will now only need to visit service centers twice, down from the previous requirement of seven visits.

Work Bundle, an innovative platform, seamlessly integrates procedures across various government entities including the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (Mohre), Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security, Dubai Health, Department of Economy and Tourism, and the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA).

Initially launched in Dubai, the platform is slated for implementation across other emirates in due course.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, took to Twitter to express the significance of the Work Bundle platform. He highlighted its role in “facilitating, simplifying, and shortening procedures for residency and work permits in the country.”

The introduction of this new integrated online platform is expected to result in significant efficiency gains. Sheikh Mohammed mentioned that it could potentially save approximately 65 million working hours previously spent on visiting and following up transactions at government offices. Moreover, it aims to reduce about 25 million government procedures and 12 million visits, consequently cutting costs for both government and private sector entities.
