The Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the consulate in Dubai have announced that they will remain closed for two consecutive Mondays — August 21 and 28 — to observe national holidays in the Philippines.
The closures are in observance of Ninoy Aquino Day on August 21 and Pambansang Araw ng mga Bayani, or National Heroes Day, on August 28. Ninoy Aquino Day commemorates the assassination of Senator Benigno ‘Ninoy’ Aquino Jr., a prominent critic of then-president Ferdinand Marcos Sr. National Heroes Day, on the other hand, marks the beginning of the Philippine Revolution against Spain led by Andrés Bonifacio in 1896.
During the closure, those requiring emergency assistance related to consular matters in Dubai and the Northern Emirates can reach out to the numbers +971 4 220 7100 or +971 56 501 5756.
For assistance related to job contract verification and support for overseas Filipino workers, individuals can contact the Migrant Workers Office – Dubai at +971 56 353 5558, +971 50 558 5536, or via e-mail at mwo.dxb.atn@gmail.com.
