Residents with visas issued by Dubai are no longer needed to secure a pre-flight approval from the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA).
An email sent by Emirates Airlines to residents confirmed that Dubai residents who had traveled outside the country and booked their return flights for February 12 or later ‘no longer require GDRFA approval’.
Meanwhile, Dubai residents are still required to present a negative Covid-19 test certificate taken not more than 72 hours before departure.
Previously, all Dubai residents needed to secure approval from the entity to fly back to the emirate. The approval was valid for 30 days only.
