The working hours for federal government employees during the Holy Month of Ramadan this year have been announced.

According to state news agency WAM, the working hours for public sector workers will be Monday to Thursday from 9am until 2:30pm and from 9am until noon on Fridays.

Pending certain criteria, workers in this sector will have flexible and remote work options on Friday. Federal departments may offer flexible working on Fridays for up to 40 percent of the total number of employees.

Ramadan in UAE is expected to begin on Saturday, April 2, but the final date has yet to be confirmed by the pertinent department.

Similarly, Eid Al Fitr 2022 is expected to fall on Sunday, May 1. Both are subject to moonsighting.
