UAE Honors 14 Frontline Heroes Who Died In The Covid-19 Fight

In an effort to honor the 14 frontline heroes who died in the Covid-19 fight in the UAE, the Frontline Heroes Office has pledged support for the bereaved families. The office, which was established in July, ensured that their ‘ultimate sacrifice’ is not forgotten by caring their loved ones they left behind.

“We have unfortunately lost 14 frontline heroes since the beginning of the pandemic. There is no other way to put it. They are fallen heroes and they gave the ultimate sacrifice, which is to sacrifice their lives for others in the country. No number is small and even one frontline worker who loses their life is too many. We are here to support their families as if they are still alive and more,” Dr. Maha Bakat, director-general of the Frontline Heroes Office, told The National.

The education, health, and housing needs of their children are looked after by the office.

Among those Filipinos who succumbed to Covid-19 in the country were Lezly Orine Ocampo and Janette Alano.
