For six weeks, the health authorities in the UAE prioritized elderly and vulnerable groups to receive the vaccine against Covid-19. The Ministry of Health and Prevention (Mohap) has recently announced that starting March 21, all eligible residents aged 16 and above can book appointments to get the vaccine.
The vaccine against the deadly virus is available for free at over 200 health centres in the UAE. The ministry, however, noted that prior appointments are mandatory.
To date, over 72 percent of senior citizens and those with chronic diseases in the country have received the vaccine. Meanwhile, 56 percent of residents have already been inoculated with the vaccine.
UAE is administering Sinopharm, Pfizer, Sputnik V, and AstraZeneca vaccines.
