Philippine Team Set to Compete in the 33rd Dubai International Basketball Championship



The 33rd DUBAI INTERNATIONAL BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP will kick off this Friday, January 19 until 28 at the Al Nasr Sports Club. Organized by SAMA EVENTS MANAGEMENT, this spectacular tournament will parade top seeded teams from the different ball clubs in the Middle East.


The 10-day sports event will be participated by teams from Lebanon, Morocco, Tunisia, Syria, Al Nasr Club of the UAE, the UAE National Team , Libya and the Philippines.


Former NBA champion and eight-time All-Star Dwight Howard will play for the Philippine Team together with ANDRE ROBERSON who used to don the Brooklyn Nets Jersey, ANDRAY BLATCHE who played nine seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA) between 2005 and 2014 before playing overseas, MCKENZIE MOORE who played a total of 36 games in two seasons with the University of Texas-El Paso (UTEP) Miners and in the NBA Summer League from 2015 to 2017 with two teams, the Milwaukee Bucks and the Dallas Mavericks. Suiting up for the SGA are Jordan Heading, Justine Baltazar, Kevin Quiambao, JD Cagulangan, Ef Escandor, Allen Liwag, Tony Ynot, Justine Sanchez (Head coach: Charles Tiu, Assistant Coach: Topex Robinson, Consultant: Brian Goorjian, Manager: Jacob Lao)
